The idea in theme with the layout of the renovation of the house was to create two overlapping works representing the two spouses on the headboard of the bed in the master bedroom.
The first work “Hephaestus or Vulcan” represents the god of fire in Greek mythology, a figure of strength and genius.
The treatment of the treated surface was carried out with cement lime and material imprinting of an abstract texture applied in a radius. Ferrous pigments were subsequently oxidized by natural processes. The visual result refers to the summit crater of the volcano.
The Selene work, slightly overlapping Hephaestus, has a surface texture that refers to the lunar surface: the craters, lunar seas and lunar valleys, roars and crevasses. the pigments used for this work are gold and bronze powders.
The set of textures imprinted in the material that fade into the imperfection and uniqueness of the handmade make each work unique.
The natural light of the environment reflects on the surface pigments, creating plays of superficial light coming from the sparkle of the pigments of the applied powders.
Efesto & Selene are backlit by lighting with adjustable intensity designed to emphasize the silhouette of the perimeters and create an intimate and welcoming atmosphere.
